I am a Los Angeles based Interior Designer with more than 26 years of experience.
Why I do, What I Do
“The purpose of interior design is the functional improvement, aesthetic enrichment, and psychological enhancement of interior space.” from “Interior Design”
by Francics D.K. Ching
My interest in interior design began when I was in high school working as an intern for InARC Design Asia in Hong Kong. I learned how to hand draw floor plan renderings and specify materials and finishes for InArc’s various design projects. Highlights are furniture recreation and specification for the Mandarin Hotel/Hong Kong and perspective drawing and project management for Corporate Law Office Design/Build Reno’s.
After university, I continued to pursue my passion and worked at Susan Troup Design in Halifax, N.S. Canada. I worked on the administrative side of the business; writing proposals, invoicing clients and designer payouts. It was the ideal learning environment to understand the financials behind an interior design firm.
After completing my post graduate degree at the Academy of Design in Toronto, I worked for Profile Tile and Construction and we designed and built franchise renovations such as Coffee Connoisseur, Kiddie Proofers, Hock Shop and Public Optical. I gained lasting experience working directly with clients in all aspects of interior design – from measuring a space, creating design concepts with estimates and implementing timelines to complete the projected construction deadlines.
After 3 years at Profile, I took a leap and formed my own interior design company: A.Wright Design. Since 1996, I have worked on a wide range of interior design projects from residential to commercial office. In 2004, I completed the National Certification for Interior Designers (NCIDQ) as well as attained my Building Code Certification (BCIN) for Legal and Small Buildings. I am currently a member of ASID; American Society of Interior Designers and have taken the steps each year to continue my studies in this ever changing industry.
I am a passionate and dedicated interior designer with 19 years of experience across varying projects of scope and size. I focus on in depth project management including; detailed analysis of my client needs, preparation and presentation of conceptual design solutions and management and implementation of the construction phase of a project. I have strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. As a leader I have learned to direct teams of suppliers and manage layers of trades to complete a project to client satisfaction.
Together we will design and build with inspiration, creativity, and original thought.

Biography
“Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.”
by Nate Berkus
I was born in Quebec; Canada and I have lived all over the world: Montreal, San Francisco, Riyadh; Saudi Arabia, Virginia, Hong Kong, Toronto and Los Angeles. After graduating from Mount Allison University with a Major in Psychology I moved to Toronto to attend the Academy of Design and it is here I found my passion; Interior Design.
I love to experience and explore everything interior design, from large scale architecture to landscape design, to industrial design right down to the fine details of fabric texture in furniture and finishes of the hardware behind a kitchen drawer. The scope is large and ever changing much like the world of fashion. I have an ability and a desire to help people enhance their interior space to achieve a healthy and more aesthetically pleasing environment.
My clients enjoy working with me because I am able to actively listen and provide solutions that help them achieve their goals. There are many phases to project completion and to make a renovation an enjoyable and seamless experience for the client. That is where I excel as I have been told by my fellow interior designers and clients that I spoil people with care and perseverance.
A love of music continues to fill my life; I sing with various bands and my latest project is as Lead Singer of the Band ‘Wonderland’ where I enjoy organizing charity events with multiple band line ups to support the causes I believe in while continuing to play with music with my talented musician friends. I love to read, eat, explore and wander the world. Team and individual sports are a love of mine; I enjoy tennis, golf, volleyball, ultimate, skiing, hiking, sailing, surfing and windsurfing. In Los Angeles it is easy to enjoy life in all of these areas all year round. What a gift.
